Welcome to UniTrack! If you are a first-time startup founder or new to business management software, setting up your company might seem daunting. This guide will hold your hand through the entire process, explaining why each step matters and providing clear, actionable examples so you can set your company up for success from Day 1.
The first step is establishing your company's digital headquarters.
Go to the UniTrack homepage and click Get Started Free. Enter your work email address (e.g., founder@yourstartup.com) and create a secure password.
Check your email inbox. You will receive a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Password). Enter this code on the verification screen to confirm your email address. This ensures that only you have access to your company's highly sensitive data.
This is where your workspace is born.
Example: If your legal company name is "Acme Technologies Pvt Ltd" but you trade as "AcmeHQ", enter "AcmeHQ" as your Organization Name. Upload your company logo—this logo will automatically appear on all the invoices and offer letters you generate later.
Before you can add employees, UniTrack needs to know how your company is organized.
Head to Employee Mgmt → Departments in the sidebar. Departments group your employees together so managers can approve their leaves or expenses easily.
Example Setup for a New Startup: Create three basic departments to start with: "Engineering", "Sales & Marketing", and "Operations". You can always create more later.
Head to Employee Mgmt → Roles & Permissions in the sidebar. A "Role" determines exactly what a user can see and do in UniTrack.
Example:
• Owner: That's you. You can see company financials and delete data.
• HR Admin: Can view all employee salaries and approve leaves, but cannot see company invoices.
• Employee: Can only see their own tasks, their own payslips, and request their own leaves.
UniTrack is powerful, but we don't want to overwhelm your team. You can turn features on and off.
Click the Settings gear icon in the sidebar. In the Organization Settings page, you will find options to enable or disable modules like Invoicing, Meeting Rooms, Activity Tracking, and more.
If you are a 5-person startup, you might not need the "Forms Builder" module right now. Toggle it Off. This hides it from the sidebar, keeping your workspace clean and simple for your team.
